Privacy Policy

Corner is a platform for organising small, in-person conversations at cafés and public spaces, available on the web and as iOS and Android apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over your information. We try to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

• Your email address — used to sign you in with a one-time code. We do not use passwords.
• Profile information you choose to add — your name, what you do, what brings you here, what you're working on or curious about, and your city. This is shown to other people on the platform so they can decide whether to sit with you.
• Your WhatsApp number (optional) — only if you add it. It is shared only with people who join a corner with you, and only when you allow it. See “Your choices” below.
• Approximate location (optional, mobile) — if you grant the permission, the app uses your device location to show corners near you and how far each café is, and to pick a default city. You can decline and choose your city manually instead; we do not store a history of your location.
• Messages you send — the chat for a corner you host or join, visible to the people at that corner. Corner chats fade after the corner ends.
• A push notification token (mobile) — so we can send the notifications you've opted into (someone joins your corner, a reminder, etc.). You can turn these off at any time in Settings.

We do not collect profile photos — Corner has no profile pictures by design.

Why we use it

We use this information only to run the app: to sign you in, to show the right corners and people, to let people coordinate around a corner they're attending, and to send the notifications you asked for. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

How it's stored and who can see it

Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) and is encrypted in transit. Sensitive fields — your email, your WhatsApp number, and your notification token — are protected so that other users cannot read them directly; your number is only ever revealed to people you share a corner with, and only when you've allowed it.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. We only share information with the service providers we need to run Corner (such as hosting and push-notification delivery).

Your choices

• Edit your profile or remove optional details at any time from your profile settings.
• Control whether your WhatsApp number is shared, with a toggle in your profile.
• Turn notifications on or off — individually or all at once — in Settings.
• Grant or decline location access; you can change this in your device settings.
• Block or report another user from their profile or a corner if something isn't right.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, the corners you've hosted, your joins, your messages, your notifications, and your reports and blocks. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Children

Corner is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make a significant change, we'll note it at the top of this page with a new date.
